All hail for Big Gal Yoga.

Voor Instagram-verslaafden (zoals wij) is het een bekende, voor andere wellicht nog niet, maar dan is het de hoogste tijd dat je op die volgknop drukt. Yogi Valerie, oftwel Big Gal Yoga, wil mensen met een maatje meer inspireren aan yoga te doen. Aan yoga kleeft een bodyimage van dunne, slanke dennen die zich in ingewikkelde posities manoeuvreren. ‘Onzin’, zegt Valerie, ‘yoga is gezond voor elk.’

Valerie begon vier jaar geleden met yoga. Eerst vond ze het fijn om te doen, toen werd het haar passie en nu is het haar missie om anderen aan te moedigen hun lijf lief te hebben. Ze startte ook een website met yogatips, waar ze bovendien over haar persoonlijke struggles vertelt. Want makkelijk is haar weg allerminst. Valerie kreeg aardig wat body shamers op haar dak die comments achterlieten als ‘ieuw’ of ‘je bent dik’. Des te harder is Valerie bezig met haar missie. ‘Yoga is voor iedereen!’

Widen the fingers onto the mat, or you can use a block between the hands, or clasp the hands together. Make sure the shoulders are up and not sinking into the arms keeping the head up.
