Rebel Wilson besteeg als Victorias Secret Angel het podium van de MTV Movie Awards. Getooid met gigantische witte vleugels en een glitterbeha wilde de Pitch Perfect-actrice duidelijk een boodschap overbrengen.
Later op de persconferentie maakte Rebel haar punt. De Bella Girls van Pitch Perfect hebben niet voor niks alle soorten figuren en nationaliteitenen; het is belangrijk om te onthouden dat we allemaal mooi zijn, hoe verschillend ook.
I think one of the good messages in the movie is that you’re all beautiful. Sometimes girls will look at Victoria’s Secret models and think they have to model themselves after that, but I really don’t think that’s the best. Even though they’re called models, they’re not the best people to model themselves after. I’d like to encourage other girls to think that way, which is why I put that on my butt.” She pointed to her head, then her butt and added: “Because it’s really about what’s up here and not what’s here.”
