Adut Akech schrijft geschiedenis tijdens Chanel show

Zuid-Sudanees en Australische topmodel Adut Akech Bior heeft geschiedenis geschreven tijdens Haute Couture week in Parijs. De 18-jarige is het tweede donkere model óóit dat de Chanel Couture-show in de Franse modestad sloot als fameuze Chanel-bruid. “Wow, waar moet ik beginnen? Het is met geen pen te beschrijven hoe ik me voel. De schoonheid van een droom is om het tot leven te zien komen”, jubelt ze op Instagram. Supermodel Alek Wek ging haar in 2014 voor.

Het model was tijdens de grande finale gehuld in een over-the-top sluier, verfraaide enkellaarzen en een tweedelig mintgroen kostuum, compleet met de Chanel-esque tweed details. Akech liep hand in hand over de catwalk met Hudson Kroenig, de 10-jarige zoon van model Brad Kroenig, die zijn catwalkdebuut voor Chanel maakte tijdens de spring/summer ’11-show.

Debuut

Akech maakte haar internationale fashionweekdebuut toen ze voor de exclusieve spring/summer ’17-show van Saint Laurent werd geboekt, waarna het balletje begon te rollen. Niet veel later sleepte ze klussen voor Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Prada , Burberry, Off-white en Versace in de wacht waar ze in de allermooiste Dameskleding over de catwalks flaneerde.

After opening the last Chanel cruise show, I honestly didn’t think it could get any better but I was wrong because I just closed this one. You guys really motivate me to thriving for my towards my dreams everyday. Knowing that I am an inspiration to someone is of the best feeling you could endure as a humanbeing. To the young girls and boys who look up to me I want you guys to know no matter who you are, where you come from or what you have, as long as you have a dream it is achievable as long as you put in hard work, give it your all, stay dedicated, determined and most importantly never give up because you will make that dream a reality at some point.
